‘Govt taking steps for women’s welfare’

FAISALABAD: The government is taking steps for welfare and betterment of women.
It was said by MNA Begum Khalida Mansoor while addressing a seminar held on the Women Protection against Violence Act at TMA Hall on Saturday. The MNA while speaking as the chief guest said that enactment of the law for protection of women was a remarkable step of the Punjab government to stop the violence against women. She said that the Islam had given a respectable status to the women and no violence against them could be tolerated. Begum Khalida said that the Punjab government had already given a revolutionary package for women for the protection of their rights while the women quota in the government jobs had been increased. MPA Fatima Fareeha, Shumaila Ch, Shamim Arif, Ghazanfar Natiq, Khawaja Khalid, Zahid Ali Shakir advocate, Dr Sadiq, Azra Rana, Naz Fatima and others also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the Punjab government’s legislation for the protection of women rights.
