WASHINGTON: Acting US Under Secretary for Political Affairs, John Bass, will be in Islamabad to meet with the Pakistani authorities.
This would be the first visit by any U.S. high official from the State department since the new government took charge after the general election.
“In Islamabad, Pakistan, Under Secretary Bass will meet with senior Pakistani government officials to discuss a range of regional and bilateral issues as part of the U.S.-Pakistani partnership,” the State department spokesperson said in a statement. Under Secretary Bass is travelling from April 26-30 and, on his way to Islamabad, is in Doha.
