ISLAMABAD: Over 300 officers of BS-19 and BS-20 belonging to different service groups have been waiting for meeting of the Central Selection Board (CSB) for their promotion.
The CSB is headed by Chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). The same post has been lying vacant since then chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar resigned from the post in August last year.
The CSB has not met in the last eight months resulting in delay in the promotion of officers from Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service, Foreign Service, Secretariat Group and other service groups.
The officers in BS-19 and BS-20 feel the CSB should meet twice a year. The last meeting was convened from August 01 to 04 last year.
The officers have demanded the prime minister appoint the FPSC Chairman and direct holding the CSB meeting to dispose of pending promotion cases.
