LAHORE: After their outstanding performances in the ongoing five-match T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand, Mark Chapman and Shaheen Shah Afridi have seen significant improvements in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
New Zealand batter Mark Chapman’s unbeaten 87 off 42 balls in the third match has propelled him up the rankings. Chapman has climbed an impressive 12 places to reach the 33rd position in the latest weekly update. His stellar innings played a crucial role in New Zealand’s victory.
Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s impressive performance in the second match has also earned him a rise in the rankings. Shaheen’s haul of three wickets for 13 runs has helped him move up two places to the 17th position.
New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert has moved up from 27th to 24th position in the rankings. New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi has progressed from 23rd to 18th position. Dipendra Singh Airee from Nepal has become the fourth player from his country to enter the top 50 in the Men’s T20I Batting Rankings. His unbeaten 44 against Hong Kong in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men’s Premier Cup has earned him recognition. Airee has also secured the 11th position in the all-rounders’ rankings, the highest for Nepal.
Hong Kong’s Anshuman Rath has climbed seven places to reach the 70th position among batters. The United Arab Emirates’ Alishan Sharafu has jumped 29 places to secure the 88th position among batters. Nepal’s Sompal Kami has progressed 16 places to reach the 92nd position among bowlers.
