Lesco officials observe strike in Okara

OKARA: The Lesco circle officials along with Labour Union workers on Friday observed a strike against registration of a case against 20 officials of the Lesco, including SE and XEN.
They also took out a protest rally from the Wapda Complex, which culminated at the DPO Office Chowk. The rally was led by All Pakistan Hydro Workers Labour Union central general secretary Khursheed Ahmad Khan and Rana Shahid Hafeez. Lesco Chief Engineer Mohsin Raza who arrived from Lahore specially participated in the protest rally. The protesters chanted slogans against the FIR registered by the City A-Division police against 20 Lesco officials, including SE Nazeer Ahmad and XEN Muhammad Shahid. The protesters also staged a sit-in near the DPO Office. They demanded DPO Faisal Rana immediately discharge the case registered on the application of Babar Shahzad, a push-cart vendor. The applicant had alleged that the Lesco employees abducted him and tortured him at Benazir Central Avenue on April 28. Later, the Lesco employees met DPO Faisal Rana at Camp Office and called of their protest. The DPO assured the Lesco employees that the case would be investigated strictly on merit.
DACOIT KILLED BY FIRING OF ACCOMPLICES: A dacoit was killed allegedly by the firing of his own accomplices at Islampura village, Depalpur, on Thursday night.
Talking to journalists, DPO Faisal Rana told that six dacoits tried to enter the house of Rana Faryad. On seeing this, Rana Faryad opened fire in the air, the DPO said. At this, the dacoits also opened fire, he added. In the meantime, he continued, some bullets of the dacoits allegedly hit their own accomplice which allegedly caused his instant death, the DPO claimed. Later, the dacoits fled leaving the dead body of their accomplice who was later identified as Mustafa alias Moli and was wanted in 12 heinous cases, the DPO added. Sadar Depalpur police have registered a case.
