ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal (FST) has rejected a petition filed by Dr. Amanullah Khan, Assistant Executive Director Federal Government Services Hospital Islamabad.
The FST Chairman Justice (R) Roohul Amin Khan and Member Asim Akram heard the petition. Dr. Amanullah has taken the plea that he was appointed as Medical Officer in BS-17 in 1996 and he was promoted in BS-18 as Assistant Executive Director in 2014.
Making Executive Director of Hospital as party, the petitioner said that a meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) which was scheduled on July 29, 2022 was also cancelled. He said that his promotion in BS-19 as Deputy Executive Director was due. The hospital management responded that only one post of BS-19 was vacant which is to be filled through direct recruitment.
Moreover, an FIR was also registered against the petitioner on November 24, 2022 and he was arrested and later released. He was restored from suspension in April, last year. However, the case is still being heard in the court. The FST observed that in the circumstances, it could not direct the respondent to promote the petitioner.
