Poets enthrall audience in Mohmand mushaira
GHALLANAI: The poets and writers enthralled the audience in a mushaira held in Yakkaghund on Sunday.Titled “Aryana”, Markazi Mohmand Pakhto Adabi Tolana had organized the mushaira or the poetic session, which was attended by prominent female and male poets in a large number.
Director Technical Education Nazir Ahmad Nazir was the chief guest on the occasion while noted poet and scholar Dr Abseen Yousafzai presided over the event. A number of poets and poetesses, writers, and social and political figures, including Samina Qadir, Dr Roshan Kalim, Dr Kulsoom Zeb and others attended the mushaira.
Former lawmaker Nisar Mohmand, Malik Afzali Khan, Zahid Mohmand, Malik Saifullah, Shams Mohmand, Jalil Safi, Raqim Mohmand and Jamil Gul Jamil welcomed the guests and participants.
At the end of the event, the guest poets and poetesses were donned with traditional turbans and shawls, respectivelyEarlier, the poetesses received thunderous applause from the audience when they presented their verses in a beautiful way.
The speakers said that the poetesses had made history with their participation in the mushaira on Mohmand soil.Ex-MPA Nisar Mohmand said that people from all walks of life should come forward and serve and develop their native language in a true sense.
