ISLAMABAD: Majority of the Pakistani people consider it necessary to pay taxes and are against tax evasion, reveals Gallup Pakistan survey.
More than 1,000 people participated in the survey from across the country between February 29 and March 15 this year.
As many as 84 percent of Pakistanis included in the survey supported paying taxes and condemned tax evasion as wrong, saying that tax evasion causes a lot of damage to the country’s economy.
However, 11 percent were against paying taxes, gave different reasons for their decision, 2 percent took a middle position on not paying taxes despite being given the opportunity, neither openly supported nor opposed paying taxes, 3 percent did not answer this question and remained silent.
