ISLAMABAD: The government is all set to select an international consultant for moving towards digitisation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) next week.
The winning consultant will be assigned to place end-to-end digitisation of manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers as well as other potential taxpayers.
Minister for Finance and Revenues Muhammad Aurangzeb on Friday chaired a high-level virtual meeting from Washington DC for selection of consultant and got briefing on the process of selection of consultant.
Around 10 parties participated in the process and after evaluating their technical expertise the Karandaaz and the selection committee selected two international consultants. Now the financing bidding of these two international consultant firms will be opened up next week and the lowest bidder is expected to win the consultancy of the placing end-to-end digitisation of the FBR.
“There is cutthroat competition expected for winning the consultancy and M/S McKinsey is one of the contenders with the possibility to win the bidding process if its financial bidding remains lowest,” official sources said.
FBR will be collaborating with Karandaaz for developing a comprehensive digital strategy for realising the digital transformation of FBR, its digitalisation initiatives and their implementation.
