Sindh sales tax deadline extended
KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has extended the deadline for the deposit of Sindh sales tax and e-filing of tax returns for the tax period of March 2024, an official notification said on Wednesday.
"The SRB, exercising powers conferred by section 81 of the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011 (Sindh Act No. XII of 2011), has allowed registered persons, including withholding agents governed by the Sindh Sales Tax Special Procedure (Withholding) Rules, 2014, to deposit the Sindh sales tax for March 2024 on or before Thursday, April 18, 2024. The tax should be deposited in the Sindh Government's head of account "B-02384" in the prescribed manner."
In addition, the SRB has permitted these entities to e-file their tax returns (in Form SST-03 or Form SSTW-03, as applicable) for the same tax period on or before Monday, April 22, 2024, in the prescribed manner.The extension is expected to provide relief to taxpayers who may have been struggling to meet the original deadlines.
