PTI lawmakers seek apology from District Nazim Mardan
MARDAN: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers here Thursday criticised the District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar for misbehaving with the Executive District Officer Education (Female) Samina Ghani and asked him to tender an apology to her.
Speaking at a press conference at the Mardan Press Club, PTI MPAs Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Zahid Khan Durrani, Obaid Khan Mayar, MNA Mujahid Khan and tehsil Mardan Nazim Mohammad Ayub Khan said that the District Nazim visited the office of EDO (Female) and hurled threats at her.
They added that the District Nazim violated the Pakhtun norms by threatening and disgracing a female. They asked Himayatullah Mayar, who belongs to the Awami National Party (ANP) to tender an apology to the official or else the PTI Mardan women chapter would launch protest campaign against him.
It is to be noted that EDO (Female) Samina Ghani had recruited 352 PTC teachers. The PTI lawmakers on Wednesday distributed the appointment letters among these teachers. However, some female candidates who were not selected held a meeting with the District Nazim and alleged that the EDO (Female) had violated the merit in the process of appointments.
Later, the District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar visited the office of the EDO (Female) in Mardan to discuss the issue with her.Sources said that after an exchange of harsh words between the two, the EDO (Female) left her office and went to the office of deputy commissioner Mardan.
Meanwhile, Malgar-i-Ustazan, the pro-ANP organization of teachers, has announced to stage protest outside the Mardan Press Club today against the alleged violation of merit in the appointment of PTC teachers.
