ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who is reaching early in the morning today (Friday) will break the deadlock between opposition and government over terms of reference (ToRs) for judicial commission pertaining to Panama Leaks.
Dar’ name was proposed and finalised by party leadership including the prime minister to head the PML-N committee to engage opposition over the ToRs. Currently, no one is ready to budge from their stated position over ToRs as opposition and government are trying to convince each other. Apart from it, the PTI chairman Imran Khan threatened the judiciary if it accepts government's ToRs and form commission the opposition will not accept it.
Dar, who enjoys trust of all political parties, immediately after his landing from Germany will start his meetings with opposition parties. Dar will also call on Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah. Dar is expected to break the deadlock over ToRs by engaging all opposition parties. Source close to Dar told The News that he will succeed in preparation of new agreed ToRs which is a mixture of opposition and government ToRs.
Sources also told that the government committee that will be chaired by Dar will also engage the PTI and other political parties over Panama Leaks ToRs issue. When consensus will develop between the government and opposition, than Law Ministry will write another letter to the Supreme Court on constituting the judicial commission with new ToRs.
A senior minister of the federal government told The News that the government is not in the mood of confrontation with the opposition. The minister said the PM has decided to fix this issue amicably. Dar will play the role of bridge between the government and opposition.
