Court issues non-bailable warrants for Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: An Additional Sessions Judge on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former President Pervez Musharraf in the murder case of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed, a cleric of the Lal Masjid. Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali Khan issued the non-bailable arrest warrants for the former president after he failed to appear before the court in the Ghazi Rasheed murder case.
The court has also confiscated the bail bonds worth Rs100,000 submitted by Musharraf’s counsel.Earlier, Musharraf’s counsel appealed to the court for exemption from appearance in
person in the court to his client.
However, the court, after listening to the arguments of the counsel, rejected Musharraf’s plea for exemption from appearance in the court and ordered non-bailable arrest warrants issued for the former president.
The court had previously issued bailable arrest warrants for Musharraf on March 10.The additional sessions judge adjourned the next hearing in the Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case till April 27.
