Zardari, Shehbaz felicitate Gilani

MULTAN: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have congratulated Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani on Eidul Fitr, as well as on his election as head of the upper house of the parliament.

The president said the election of Gilani as Senate chairman would play an important role in development and prosperity of the country. He hoped the best legislation for development and prosperity of the country would be done Senate under Gilani, which would further strengthen roots of parliament and democracy.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said Yusuf Raza Gilani was elected unopposed as the Senate chairman and hoped that under his leadership, effective legislation would be carried out in the upper house.
