Habib University on Saturday issued a statement in response to a news report carried by this newspaper and titled "CIEC, Sindh HEC letter to HU points to violations of rules".
The university clarified that the assertions made in the report are entirely misleading and incorrect, as the visit referred to in the report was a compliance visit conducted by HEC in July 2023, during which Habib University diligently addressed all concerns raised by the committee members.
Subsequently, it said, comprehensive responses were provided to the observations made, and a final report was in the process of being published.
The publication of this old letter was therefore without context or verification, the statement said and termed it disappointing that the reporter failed to reach out to university for comments before publishing the report.
It said Habib University prides itself on upholding the highest standards of academic excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements, and it has also taken proactive measures to address any concerns or recommendations put forth by them.
