RAWALPINDI: Despite the passage of eight days of the appointment of IG Police Islamabad, the federal capital is without the police chief.
The Establishment Division posted DIG Operations Lahore and Police Service Grade 20 officer Syed Nasir Ali Rizvi as IG Police Islamabad on March 29.
Former IG Police Akbar Nasir Khan, who was replaced on March 30, had relinquished the charge. Syed Nasir Ali Rizvi has not yet joined duty as he has not been relieved by the Punjab government.
Meanwhile, it was also suggested that a new panel should be sent to the cabinet but the federal government has not taken any decision so far. No DIG has been given temporary charge of the capital IGP.
