LAHORE: Aitchison College’s Board of Governors (BoG) has accepted the resignation of Principal Michael A. Thomson and appointed Amina Kamran as the college’s acting principal.
Thomson had resigned from his post on March 25 over issues surrounding the fee waiver granted to the sons of Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema. Afterwards, Punjab Governor and President of Aitchison College’s BoG Balighur Rehman had assigned the charge to Amina Kamran and Khalid Noon Barsar to look after the administrative affairs in his place.
It is pertinent to mention that the same day, Governor Balighur Rehman had approved 28-day ex-Pakistan leave of Michael A. Thomson. While there were no reports about the acceptance of the principal’s resignation afterwards, there were reports on Friday that the BoG had finally accepted the resignation.
As per her LinkedIn profile, Amina Kamran has been serving as the Headmistress Senior School at Aitchison College since 2016.
