LAHORE: After Federal Minister Ahad Cheema announced not to avail the fee waiver facility for his children at Aitchison College, the Governor Punjab/Chairman Aitchison Board of Governors amended the rule and approved 50 percent fee waiver for students availing reservation of seats during leave or absence.
On March 21, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, in his capacity as President of Board of Governors (BoG), Aitchison College, had ordered to waive the fees of sons of Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Establishment Division Ahad Cheema on a representation filed by Ms Saima Ahad Cheema.
This was followed by strong reaction including resignation by the college principal Michael A Thomson in protest.
The News tried to seek comments of Punjab governor over this development but he was not available.
