ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership Wednesday demanded that instant orders should be issued for medical examination of Imran Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi and her blood sample should be sent abroad because no such laboratory existed in Pakistan to prepare a report of slow poisoning.
“We had already demanded that she should be shifted to Adiala jail immediately and her medical examination be conducted by doctors from Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital,” party’s Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan demanded during a news conference here along with other PTI leaders Khalid Khurshid, Shaukat Basra and Kanwal Shauzab.
The PTI leaders alleged Bushra Bibi was facing serious life threats and was being slow poisoned solely under the ‘Khan Elimination Project’. However, they vowed not to tolerate any laxity relating to her safety and security come what may.
They demanded that their serious apprehensions regarding the slow poisoning and threats to her life should be addressed without any further delay or they would chalk out a strategy within a few days to give a strong reaction to this “inhuman and shameful” treatment being meted out to Bushra Bibi.
About judges’ letters, Raoof said that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) did not have any justification and logic to have a meeting with the executive over the letter episode since they addressed the letter to the Supreme Judicial Council and the premier himself was an accomplice in the matter.
He lamented that the CJP spent much time during hearing of the judges letter case to explain and justify his meeting with Shehbaz Sharif because efforts were being made at the Supreme Court level to put the thing under carpet. “We believed that the CJP made the case and his own conduct controversial by holding a meeting with PM,” Raoof maintained.
The PTI central information secretary said that they were really concerned about the safety and security of Bushra Bibi, as she was given poisonous food that badly affected her health. He pointed out that despite lapse of five weeks, she had not recovered and her health deteriorated further.
The PTI leader made it clear that it was a part of the ‘Khan Elimination Project’ under which they first tried to eliminate him politically but fell flat and then they attempted to eliminate him physically but Allah Almighty protected him. He went on to say that under the third phase, they implicated him in terrorism cases in the name of May 9 incidents, terming it a part of the notorious ‘London Plan’.
Talking about suspected letters laced with ‘anthrax’ powder, he said that the letters were sent to IHC judges on Tuesday, and on Wednesday the judges of apex courts and LHC received similar threatens. He alleged the government was doing all ‘shameful acts to pressurise judges’ so as no one could talk about the destruction they inflicted on the country.
He went on to say that the judges should not criticise the PTI social media because they should bear in mind it was not PTI’s guilt but of PMLN goons who had raided the SC building, adding that similarly neither his party leaders were held responsible for Justice Qayyum and Shehbaz phone call nor for buying Balochistan High Court (BHC).
About the opposition grand alliance, Raoof said that a grand alliance of six political parties believed in democracy and had decided to fight the war of supremacy of Constitution and upholding the rule of law together. Therefore, he said, that they were united at one platform and they would launch their political struggle after Eid and would hold their first public meeting on April 12 in Pishin.
Speaking on the occasion, former Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister Khalid Khurshid demanded formation of a medical panel comprising reputed medical doctors immediately to examine Bushra Bibi’s health condition.
Shaukat Basra said that there was a law of jungle in the country. He added that unfortunately the CJP was defending his meeting with the executive instead of siding with fellow judges on the issue of letter.
PTI Women Wing President Kanwal Shauzab expressed apprehension about Bushra Bibi’s health condition and demanded that her blood sample should be sent to Germany because no such lab was available in Pakistan to prepare report on slow poisoning.
