After dispatching some very important documents to the University of Punjab for degree verification purposes from Attock last month, I received an SMS from the courier company three days later that it had been delivered to the office safely. A month elapsed before I contacted the relevant department to confirm if they had received my documents. To my utter shock, they claimed that they had not. Upon receiving this news, I visited the booking office of the courier company and showed them the booking receipt but, instead of tracing the misplaced documents, the company officials began making lame excuses.
After contacting the company’s headquarters in Lahore, I learned that the consignment had been delivered to a person at the reception of the university even though there is no such person at the main campus of the Punjab University. Since then, the company has been clueless about where my documents may have gone. I would like to urge the authorities concerned to help maintain a more consistent standard of service across the various courier companies operating in Pakistan. Such unprofessionalism and irresponsibility should not be allowed.
