Army, Wapda A scoop Ramadan Cup crowns
ISLAMABAD: Army and Wapda A Tuesday clinched trophies in the women’s and men’s departmental categories of All Pakistan 3x3 Ramadan Cup Basketball that concluded here at the Pakistan Sports Complex.
In a well-contested women’s final, Army overwhelmed Lycans A Club 12-5 to win the title. Army displayed exceptional skills and tenacity, battling until the end of the match and securing a comfortable win at the end. Aamina Mohsin (Army) emerged as player of the night, contributing 8 points. Hadiya added 3 points while Mahrukh Ali netted 3 points for Lycans A.
Wapda A was too strong against Wapda B winning with a big margin 21-10 in the men’s departmental final. Wapda’s ace players Kaleemullah and Zainul Hasan led the winning side by scoring 9 and 7 points respectively while Amir Farooq netted 6 points for the losing side.
Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) President Brig (r) Muhammad Iftikhar Mansoor was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. He gave away the trophies and cash awards to the winners and runners-up teams.
