ISLAMABAD: Details of 20 bureaucratic officers holding dual nationality were presented in the National Assembly.
The Establishment Division submitted a written reply, revealing that 20 top government officials possess dual nationality. The information, provided in response to a question from Ms. Rana Ansar, includes the names, designations, and service groups/departments of government servants in BS-17 and above who hold dual nationality, along with the countries from which they hold citizenship.
Out of the 20 dual nationality bureaucrats, 10 hold citizenship from the United Kingdom, six from Canada, and four from the United States. The bureaucrats with dual nationality include one BS-22 officer, two BS-21 officers, five BS-20 officers, 10 BS-19 officers, and two senior officers of BS-18.
Among those listed, notable officials include Ms. Sarah Saeed, Special Secretary of the Commerce Division (PAS, Grade 22), holding UK nationality; Ms. Saima Ali, Chief of Section at the P&D Board, Punjab Lahore (PAS, Grade 19), holding UK nationality; Ms. Rabia Aurangzeb, at the disposal of the Interior Division, Islamabad (PAS, Grade 18), holding Canadian nationality; and Ms. Samar Ihsan, Additional Secretary at the Economic Affairs Division (SG, Grade 21), holding Canadian nationality.
The other officers are; Muhammad Wishaq, Joint Secretary Overseas Pakistanis and HRD, belongs to SG in Grade 20 and holds citizenship of the United States, Ghulam Mujtaba Joyo, OSD, Establishment Division in Grade 20 of SG, holds the nationality of the United States, Tuha Ahmed Faruqui, Secretary of Empowerment Persons with Disabilities of SG in Grade 20, holds the nationality of the United Kingdom, Jan Muhammad, Additional DG, FIA HQ Islamabad of Police Services of Pakistan (PSP) in Grade 21, holds the nationality of the United Kingdom, Zaheem Iqbal Sheikh, Director FIA HQ Islamabad of PSP in Grade 20, holds the nationality of the United Kingdom, Shahid Javed, DIG N-5 Central Zone NH&MP in Grade 20, holds the nationality of Canada, Nadeem Hussain, SSP (Invt) C.T.D., Lahore, of PSP in Grade 19, holds the nationality of Canada, Barakat Hussain Khosa, DIG Central Highway N-10, Quetta Balochistan, in Grade 19, holds the nationality of Canada, Sohail Ahmed Sheikh, AIF (Finance), Quetta, in Grade 19, holds the citizenship of the United Kingdom, Adil Memon, SSP, Mirpur Khas Sindh of PSP in grade 19, holds citizenship in the United States, Atif Nazir, SSP (Admin) Lahore of PSP in Grade 19, holds the nationality of the United States. LT (retd) Imran Shaukat, reports to CPO, Sindh, Karachi, of PSP in Grade 19, who holds the nationality of the United Kingdom, Fawaduddin Riaz Qureshi, Director, IBBP Hq, Lahore, of PSP in Grade 19, holds the nationality of the United Kingdom, Haider Sharif, who reports to the CPO, Lahore, of PSP in Grade 19 holds the nationality of Canada, Waqar Ahmed, Project Director PMU for Safe City Project Peshawar of PSP in Grade 19, holds the nationality of the United Kingdom, and Jawed Ahmed Baloch, DD FIA (ACC) Karachi of PSP in Grade 18, holds the nationality of the United Kingdom.
