The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan has stopped admissions of PharmD in 25 colleges across Pakistan for violating rules. The council has said that these institutions are not allowed to enrol students in the PharmD Programme for the fall session due to implementation of revised Higher Education Commission Institutional Policy 2024 and lack of valid affiliation with a public sector university.
Among the institutions that have been stopped from admitting students in PharmD are eight pharmacy colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eleven in Punjab, five in Sindh and one in Islamabad.
In a notification of the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, among the colleges are the Medicaid College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, Chakdra Dir Lower, Haripur College of Pharmacy, Haripur, Baraq Institute of Health Sciences, Kirk, Akbar Institute of Medical Sciences & Pharmacy College Mansehra, Howrah College of Pharmacy, Mansehra, The Professional Institute of Health Sciences, Mardan, Swabi College of Pharmacy, Swabi, Vertex Institute of Science and Technology, Abbottabad, Universal Institute of Health Sciences, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Habib Institute of Health Sciences, Mian Channun Institute of Life Sciences, Shakargarh, Atlas College of Health Sciences, Gujranwala, Dawood Institute of Medical Sciences, Gujranwala, Isa Institute of Medical Health Sciences, Gujranwala, Mian Mir College of Pharmacy, Jhang, Khaira Institute of Modern Science and Technology, Multan, University College Multan, Institute of Health Sciences, Multan, Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences, Leh, International Institute of Technology, Culture and Health Sciences, Gujranwala, Kingston College of Pharmacy, Karachi, Pakistan Institute of Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences, Karachi, Bhargri Institute of Pharmacy, Matli, Badin, Bhatai Institute, Mirpurkhas, Educaire Institute, Sukkur, and Peace and Cage Institute of Health Sciences, Islamabad.
