TIRAH: A local welfare organisation, with the help of district administration, has trained men and women in farming and sewing along with carrying out social responsibilities in the Tirah Valley of the Khyber tribal district.
Those trained included 75 men, who received farming training and 25 women who learnt sewing and embroidery skills.The Community Resilience Activity (CRA-North) held a ceremony at Tirah Maidan Jirga Hall at the conclusion of the training. The trainees and local elders attended the function.
The CRA officials urged the participants of the training to use the farming toolkits and other equipment provided to them for the economic uplift of the area.“ We have always provided assistance to the people affected by the unrest and will continue to do so to make them economically stable,” said a CRA-North official.
He said 25 women were trained in sewing and embroidery by woman trainers in this programme and provided job opportunities.
The participants termed the training workshops very beneficial and thanked the CRA-North for that. They called for more such training.
They said that there should be a focus on the resolution of local problems of the farmers and conflicts and the elimination of social deprivation.The participants sought the social development of the local people to promote mutual relations among the local farmers to strengthen the economic stability.
