Interactive workshop of PhD scholars concludes at AIOU

A three week-long interactive workshop of the research scholars of PhD, organised by the Department of Mass Communication, Allama Iqbal Open University concluded here.
The workshop was held under the patronage of Dean/Chairman of Department of Mass Communication Professor Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj. Associate Professor Dr. Saqib Riaz and Associate Professor Dr. Bakht Rawan also led the discussions.
During the interactive session, Dr. Siraj said that the journalists are the eyes and ears of the society in other words they play role of watchdogs for every segment of the society.
He further said the main aim of journalism is to provide accurate and reliable information to his target population. So, he said that they should be very careful in gathering their reports, based on accuracy and facts.
Dr. Saqib Riaz during the discussions encompassed several important topics related with media. Dr. Bakht Rawan also covered important issues of mass communication. They explained them with the help of a number of national and international examples.
The eleven research scholars, Hayam Qayyum, Nazia Bibi, Abdul Rehman Qaisar, Ghani Rahman, Mian Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Ashraf Wani, Muhammad Sher Juni, Muhammad Yousaf, Salman Amin, Shams ur Rehman and Syed Anis Ahmad, of the first semester of PhD Mass Communication, Autumn 15 session, enthusiastically participated in the discussions.
They presented their research work through power-point on multimedia to have knowledge-based discussions. Comprehensive dialogues were held on themes like ‘International Communication and Globalisation,’ ‘Media Debate’ and ‘Political Communication’ and derivative topics of Mass Communications.
At the conclusion, the discussants also encompassed several important topics related with media.
