LAHORE: Woman members of the Punjab Assembly staged walkout in protest against opposition MPAs’ objectionable gestures at Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari.
The ruling party woman MPAs complained that some members from the opposition side had made rude gestures which was highly condemnable.
The house plunged into disorder when the ruling party MPAs criticised founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan. Sunni Ittehad Council MPAs, while participating in the budget debate, expressed disappointment, and stated the government had completely ignored the youth. PMLN MPA Sania Ashiq hailed the budget and steps taken by the Punjab government for welfare of people.
Members of opposition Sunni Ittehad Council also staged walkout in protest against the attitude of Provincial Minister Azma Bokhari. The MPAs across the divide participated in the budget debate and came up with their proposal as well as complaints concerning the annual development programme.
Meanwhile, opposition legislator Mian Ejaz Shafi expressed serious concern over resignation of Aitchison College Lahore principal Speaking on a point of order in the PA session, chaired by Deputy Speaker Zaheer Iqbal Channar, Ejaz Shafi said it was a matter of huge embarrassment for the country the way the principal of an esteemed institution like Aitchison College had resigned. He criticised Ahad Cheema for seeking waiver of the fee of his sons.
