MARDAN: The Mayor of Mardan, Himaytullah Mayar, has urged the deputy commissioner to take action against alleged corruption in the approval of housing societies and the allotment of shops in the TMA Medical and Shopping Complex (Clock Tower).
The mayor’s letter to the deputy commissioner highlighted various alleged irregularities in the approval process of private housing societies within the jurisdiction of Mardan TMA.He alleged that many NOCs were issued without the scrutiny committee’s report and revisions were granted without proper approvals from relevant departments. Mayar stressed the need for a thorough investigation into these alleged violations and disciplinary action against the officers responsible.
He also raised concerns about the auction of 208 shops in the TMA Medical & Shopping Complex Mardan, where a significant number of shops were allegedly allotted to the investors in alleged violation of the agreements.
The mayor highlighted discrepancies in recovery premiums and urged an inquiry into possible corruption, irregularities, and financial losses incurred.Mayar said his letter underscored the importance of safeguarding public funds and the interests of the general public, urging prompt action to address the alleged corruption and irregularities within TMA Mardan and the Local Council Board Peshawar.
