Lughmani elected as JCP member
MANSEHRA: Senior lawyer and MPA Munir Hussain Lughmani on Saturday elected member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province for the next two-year term.
“I would play my constitutional role which is very much important in the judges’ appointments at high courts as the sanctity of bench and bar lies only with the justice,” he told reporters after his election here.
Munir Lughmani, who was elected the MPA from PK-36 Mansehra-I as a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-backed contestant, said that he would represent the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council in the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) for the next two years.
“My role as a member of KP bar at the JCP would be impartial and without any favouritism,” Lughmani said.
He said that in the current scenario where political crises have rooted widely in the country, the role of the higher judiciary has become more pivotal to keep the democratic set-up in its true spirit.
