PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau has made significant progress in the investigation of Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit case. The NAB has tightened the circle around the accused.
NAB sources have confirmed that important evidence has been found against the accused, and approximately 75 bank accounts belonging to the accused have been frozen across the country. Similarly, two plots worth billions of rupees, including high-rise buildings in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad, have also been frozen. Furthermore, a nationwide search has been initiated to gather information about the properties of accused individuals.
An NAB officer informed this correspondent that a request for mutual legal assistance had been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain information regarding the foreign properties of accused.
The BRT project was initiated by former chief minister Pervez Khattak during the previous government of Tehreek-e-Insaf and completed during the tenure of former chief minister Mahmood Khan. The NAB is investigating allegations of massive corruption in the project.
