ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday issued notices to all parties, including the federal government, while hearing the petitions filed against additional taxes in electricity bills.
A three-member SC bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard the petitions. Justice Mansoor remarked that it was strange that half of the tax was to be paid.
The counsel for the petitioners told the court that as per the law, further tax and extra taxes were applicable to the non-registered entities. He submitted that the petitioner entities were already paying the GST.
