Karachi Jamat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman underwent angioplasty at the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Ojha campus after he complained of ‘exertional chest pain’ and visited the cardiology department of the health facility, DUHS officials said on Monday.
“Today Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman came to our department with h/o exertional chest pain. We performed his coronary angiogram which was showing all three vessels occluded. We put two stents and opened his 2 major vessels. Alhamdulillah he is ok and in CCU for observation. We will discharge him tomorrow InshaAllah and will plan 3rd stenting later on,” Dr Tariq Farman, head of the DUHS Cardiology Department, said. JI officials said Naeem was having chest pain and he himself went to the DUHS cardiology department for the consultation.
