PESHAWAR: Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has conveyed to the Regional Tax Office the concerns of the business community associated with the distribution sector over the enforcement of the Point of Sale (PoS) System.
A delegation of Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) headed by SCCI President Fuad Ishaq held a meeting with Chief Commissioner, Zafar Iqbal, at the Regional Tax Office here on Monday. The delegation consisted of the president of Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) Atif Shahzad, General Secretary Khalid Farooq Malik, Azhar Khan and others.
Additional Commissioner RTO Peshawar was present during the meeting.Fuad Ishaq talked about the concerns of distributors over the enforcement of the POS system through an SRO by the FBR. He urged FBR to review the decision and implement the POS system with due clarity.
The SCCI chief said the business community wanted to pay all taxes because the national economy would be stabilized by timely payment of all taxes and the country will lead toward prosperity and sustainable progress.
Fuad Ishaq, however, urged the FBR to consult chambers and the business community before introducing new policies, rules and regulations, SROs so that there was no hurdle to their smooth implementation.The chief commissioner assured the issue of the PoS system would be taken up with FBR in a bid to have it resolved.
