KP CM says law, order foremost responsibility
Gandapur reached his native Dera Ismail Khan district for the first time after assuming the charge of his office
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said on Sunday maintaining law and order and ensuring welfare of all the people of KP was his foremost responsibility.
“The very first responsibility of the provincial government is to maintain law and order. A viable plan has been finalized for that,” he said while talking to reporters.
Gandapur reached his native Dera Ismail Khan district for the first time after assuming the charge of his office. The party workers and others welcomed him.
Enlisting the people-welfare-oriented steps, he said the Sehat Insaf Card scheme for tree treatment, which was suspended in the past, had been restored now.
He promised that initiatives would be taken to improve service delivery at the government hospitals and they would not need to go to private hospitals.
The chief minister repeated his earlier stand and said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government at the Centre was overthrown in the year 2022 through conspiracy.
“The economic conditions of the country began to deteriorate with each passing day. The skyrocketing prices of essential commodities made the life of the common man miserable anywhere in the country,” he went on to add.
The chief minister said keeping in view the prevailing economic situation and its adverse impacts on the life of the masses, despite numerous challenges, the KP government had decided to give relief to the people. “As many as 8,50,000 deserving households will be provided with Ramazan Package in a dignified manner,” he said pointing out that shelter homes had been made functional and all facilities made available there.
Gandapur said making the province economically self-sufficient was one of the priority areas of his government.
“Concrete measures would be taken to ensure food security in the province. Self-employment opportunities will be provided to the youth and women by imparting them digital and skills training in line with the demands of the modern market,” he elaborated.
The chief minister said steps would be taken to enhance the revenue of the province.
He said the issue of the KP outstanding dues with the Centre had been taken up with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“It is a matter of the rights of our people. The federation will have to pay that. We will continue to struggle for the rights of the people, and no stone will be left unturned in this regard,” he pledged.
