Helpline to be launched to solve players’ problems, says minister

LAHORE:Punjab Youth Affairs Department will launch a helpline to solve players' problems. Punjab Youth Affairs Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar in a statement on Sunday said that the WhatsApp number and Social Media Complaint Cell was being launched to resolve sports related complaints from across the province. 'Director Sports Punjab has been appointed as Focal Person of Complaint Cell'.

Khokhar said that all the sports circles of the province should contact directly to solve their problems. 'Sports circles can also lodge complaints regarding lack of sports facilities', the minister said. He said that he wanted to provide the best environment for the development of talented athletes from across the province. 'True sports culture is being promoted in Punjab under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz'.

Khokhar said that there is immense sports talent in our country and all the officers of the sports department need to be active in the field for the betterment of sports and players.

Cricketers visit Police Animal Rescue Centre

Shahid Afridi along with former leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed visited the Police Animal Rescue Centre in Gulberg and reviewed the facilities provided to the rescued animals at the centre.

Shahid Afridi described the Police Animal Rescue Centre as an ideal project for the treatment and rehabilitation of helpless, injured and sick animals. He also recorded his special message outside the Police Animal Rescue Centre. He said that he would provide all possible support to the animal rescue centre in this important milestone of service.

MoU signed

An MoU was signed between Punjab Police and a group of hospitals. Commander Battalion-V, PC, Abbas Lines, visited hospital to finalise the agreement. Under this MoU, medical camps with experts will be organised for awareness and treatment. Special discounts on laboratory tests and bed expenses will be provided to Punjab Constabulary officials at Farooq Hospital. Free treatment will also be available at Akhtar Saeed Teaching Hospital for police martyrs' families.
