Culture of virtual police stations to be developed: minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Kh Imran Nazeer said that a culture of virtual police stations will be established where women will not have to go to police stations for their complaints.

He expressed these views while talking to media during his visit to the Police Khidmat Markaz, Liberty Market on Saturday. The visit was conducted to inspect the policing facilities being extended to the public.

Kh Imran Nazeer was informed about the traffic licensing and modern facilities provided to the citizens in the service centers.

Speaking to the media, the minister said that services available at police Khidmat Markaz will be transformed completely and the outdated system of policing will be converted into modern one. The people will soon see a changing, growing and flourishing Punjab under the leadership Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He said that now modern facilities are being provided in police service centres and police stations.

Khawaja Imran Nazeer said that the scope of Safe City is being extended to other big cities, which will help in crime prevention. All Khidmat Markaz and police stations have been equipped with modern infrastructure, technology and IT facilities. The health minister also appreciated the efforts of IGP Punjab for modernising the infrastructure development of police offices.

Later, both the health ministers Kh Salman Rafique and Kh Imran Nazeer visited the Transgender Protection School established by the police in Jallo Park and reviewed the facilities provided in the Protection School. The provincial ministers inspected the classrooms, living rooms, laundry and other facilities of transgender children. Senior officers including SSP Operations Lahore Ali Raza and ASP Gulberg Shehrbano Naqvi accompanied them. ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi briefed the visiting ministers of this project.

The provincial ministers appreciated the protection centre and said that it is an important step to make transgender useful citizens of the society. They said that they will ensure the establishment of separate wards for transgender in hospitals. The provincial ministers said that the establishment of protection education is the guarantee of a bright future for transgender children.
