KARACHI: Young and emerging tennis star Tariq Rafi won the Essity Tennis Championship in the under-11 category.
In the final, Tariq defeated Qazi Ahyan by 4-0 and 4-1. Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Mashfique Ahmed emphasised that good sports events and opportunities need to be created to encourage physical sports activities amongst the youth.
Pakistan’s number one wheelchair tennis player Fida Hussain was awarded the Performance Sheild. In the closing remarks, Karachi Tennis Association President Muhammad Khalid Rahmani thanked the sponsor for supporting the event and the game of tennis.
