Kidnapped girl recovered, couple nabbed

HAFIZABAD: A 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted by the owner of a brothel and her husband, was recovered on Sunday.
According to police source, Gulnaz of Mohallah Tajpura was going to a bazaar two days ago when two people, including Nasrullah, forcibly bundled her in a car and took her to a brothel, allegedly run by Shumaila, in Mohallah Jilanipura. On the report of the abductee’s father, the police raided different places and at last recovered Gulnaz from the custody of Shumaila. The police have arrested Shumaila and her husband Waqas.
After recovery, Gulnaz alleged that Shumaila forced her for prostitution during the last two days.
5 cops injured in accident

HAFIZABAD: As many as five policemen were injured in an accident near Nothay village on Sunday.
ASI Ishtiaq and four other cops, including Tahir Rashid, Fiaz and Tanveer, were returning after performing their duty when a speeding truck hit their vehicle on Kot Sarwar Interchange. As a result, all five cops were injured.

Powerloom workers rally on Labour Day

HAFIZABAD: Activists of the Powerloom Labour Union on Sunday took out a rally on the Labour Day.
The rally started from Mohallah Mian Da Kot and ended at Fawara Chowk. The participants of the rally demanded increase in the wages of workers. Meanwhile, a seminar was also organised under the auspices of the Population Welfare Department on the Labour Day.
