ISLAMABAD: With the approval of the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the tax machinery on Friday underwent a major reshuffle of inland revenue officers (IROs) belonging to grades 20 and 21.
A total of 44 officers in grades 20 and 21 have been transferred and posted in different parts of the country, days after formation of the new government.
According to notifications issued by the FBR, the bureau has transferred Dr Tauqeer Ahmad Memon (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) from the post of director general, Directorate General of Broadening of Tax Base FBR (Hq), Islamabad, and posted him as chief commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office, Sukkur.
Muhammad Abid Raza Bodla (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) has been transferred from the post of chief commissioner, Regional Tax Office, Sukkur, and posted as chief commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office, Bahawalpur. Muhammad Tariq Arbab (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) has been transferred from the post of director general, Directorate General of Withholding Taxes FBR (Hq), Islamabad, and posted as the officer assigned the additional charge of the post of director general, Directorate General of Broadening of Tax Base (BTB), FBR (Hq), Islamabad, as per rules.
Laila Ghafoor (Inland Revenue Service/BS-20) has been posted as director general (OPS), Directorate General of Anti Benami Initiatives, Islamabad (stationed at Lahore), and Faridullah Jan Khan (Inland Revenue Service/BS-20) as director general, (OPS) Directorate General of Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs), Islamabad. Also on Friday, the FBR made transfers/postings of over three dozen inland revenue officers working in grades 17 to 19 with immediate effect.
According to a notification, the FBR made transfers/postings of 38 officers working in grade 17 to 19 with immediate effect. The notification states that the officers who are drawing performance allowance prior to the issuance of this notification shall continue to draw this allowance at the new place of posting.
Those who haven transferred/posted include Ali Muhammad (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19), who was working as additional commissioner, Corporate Tax Office, Islamabad. He has been posted as additional commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office, Rawalpindi.
Imran Ali Sheikh (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) has been transferred and made additional commissioner inland revenue, Corporate Tax Office, Karachi; Naveed Ali Narejo (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19), as additional commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office I, Karachi; Tariq Iqbal (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as secretary, Legal-IR Wing FBR (Hq), Islamabad; Fayaz Hussain Abro (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as additional commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office II, Karachi; Khawar Siddique (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as additional commissioner inland revenue, Corporate Tax Office, Lahore; Kiran Maqsood (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as additional commissioner inland revenue, Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore; Haider Abbas Abbasi (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as additional commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office II, Karachi; Asif Jamali (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as additional commissioner inland revenue, Regional Tax Office, Sukkur; and Rashida Khalil (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19) as additional commissioner inland revenue, Large Taxpayers Office, Karachi.
Others who have been transferred/posted include Qayyum Rani (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19), Muhammad Kashif Khan (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19), Rashid Mahmood Khan Bhettani (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19), Muhammad Ali (Inland Revenue Service/BS-19), and Umair Akbar Soomro (Inland Revenue Service/BS-18).
