KARACHI: Pakistan Tennis Federation has constituted its management committee to run all the affairs of the federation. The committee is headed by President PTF Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi while former president PTF Salim Saifullah Khan has been made its patron.

Saleem Marwat from Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association has been made Senior Executive Vice President for Policy while Army’s Suleman Junaid has been made SEVP for PO/Dev/Ops/Finance.

There are six Senior Vice Presidents: Yasir Amin (Pakistan Air Force), M Kamran (Navy), Suhail lftikhar (PTF), Khawaja Khawar for Marketing, Ghulam Rabbani (POF), and Ali Murtaza (PTF) for International Affairs.

Zia-ud-din Tufail is the honorary secretary and Saad Baloch (HEC) has been made the Joint Secretary while treasurer is Arif Qureshi. Zaira Ahmad Zaka has been made Vice President and Khalid Rehmani has been made Vice President for Wheel Chair Tennis and Para Olympics.

Former Secretary PTF Gul Rehman has been made Director for Security & Management of PTF Complex and Asim Shafik has been made Director Academia & Development.

Aqeel Khan has been made Director Training & Evaluation while he will also head the Athlete Commission for male and Sara Mehboob will head the Athlete Commission for female. However, this formation of the management committee has been considered in contradiction to a key clause in the constitution of the federation.

“The formation of the committee has violated the constitution of the federation,” said an official of PTF while talking to ‘The News’. He added that the clause that has been violated is about Vice Presidents as the constitution states that there should be four VPs, one from each province and one from Islamabad (ITA).

“But there are only two VPs in the committee. It seems that President PTF has included all those in the management committee who voted for him in the recently held elections,” said the official.
