Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sharjeel Inam Memon has joined the Sindh cabinet as a senior minister. In addition to this, Memon has been given the portfolios of transport, mass transit and excise & taxation. Notifications have been issued in this regard.
He has also served as the minister of works and services, transport and mass transit, and information during the previous regime of the party. During the previous regime, Memon's biggest achievement was initiating the People's Bus Service and the Pink Bus Service for women.
The introduction of Orange Line, Yellow Line BRT, Red Line BRT, Green Line in Karachi and Hyderabad, the launch of bus service in other cities of Sindh, and the appointment of female drivers in the Pink Bus Service were among his remarkable achievements. As part of these projects, the reconstruction of bridges on these BRT routes has also been made possible due to his efforts.
Apart from this, additional electric buses for Karachi and other cities of Sindh, and electric taxis for the citizens of Karachi, along with a women's pink electric taxi service, are also part of Sharjeel Inam Memon's vision.
As minister of information, he achieved the establishment of the Commission for the Protection of Journalists and Media Practitioners at the government level, marking the first time in the history of Sindh. This initiative aimed to safeguard journalists and other individuals associated with the media.
