Security arrangements for worship places finalised

LAHORE: Following the directives of Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police have finalised security arrangements of religious and public places of the province during Ramazan.

The police will provide security to all 36,433 mosques, 2,179 Imambargahs, 444 minority places of worship across the province, including Lahore. In a statement, the IGP said more than 74,000 police officers, officials and community volunteers would be deployed for the security of worship places.

IGP releases treatment funds

IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar Monday released more medical funds for police employees. Lahore Police’s langri Sabqat ullah Khan was given Rs 500,000 for the treatment of backbone problem and Rs 100,000 for the wife of deceased sub-inspector Muhammad Qasim for the treatment of liver and kidneys.

Nouman Asher of Special Protection Unit was given Rs 100,000 for eye treatment. Assistant Director Humair Ahmad Qureshi was given Rs 100,000 for the treatment of hernia. Rs70,000 were given to the wife of constable Rana Muhammad Akhtar Parvez (late) for the treatment of liver disease. The wife of Shaheed Muhammad Afzal of Sheikhupura was directed to contact Ever Care Hospital for evaluation and treatment, DSP was appointed as welfare focal person. Meanwhile, the IGP visited Qurban Lines and inspected ongoing development works in various offices.

Safe delivery of Ramazan package

Capital City Police Officer Bilal Sadiq Kamyana has stated that Lahore Police was providing security for the safe delivery of the Ramazan Negihban Relief Package. He said that policemen were deputed to ensure the safe delivery of relief package at their doorsteps. He further noted that the Lahore Police, in collaboration with the district administration, was playing an important role in the accomplishment of the Ramazan Relief Package.

Professors visit cpo

Professors of Punjab University and University of Sargodha Monday visited the Central Police Office and called on IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. PU Social Work Department chairperson Prof Uzma and University of Sargodha Assistant Professor Dr Nargis Abass were the members of the delegation.

The provision of community policing training to the students of both the universities were discussed in the meeting with the IGP. The IGP said cops would impart special training to the students of both the universities.
