LAHORE: The Services Hospital/Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) has banned the entry of any doctors /PG trainee/house officer, who have not been authorised by the hospital administration/Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department.
The hospital administration removed 472 doctors, including 107 house officers and 365 PG trainees, who were not authorised to work in the hospital. The hospital sources claimed that some office-bearers and members of Young Doctors Association (YDA) had been allegedly involved in granting appointments to the house officers and PG trainees in the hospital.
The SHL Medical Superintendent through an official notification requested all the heads of wards /departments to immediately comply with the instructions. All the senior registrars of wards/units are directed to immediately remove any un-authorised doctors/paramedics working in the ward without written order by the hospital.
The YDA, SHL chapter also held a protest demonstration outside MS office in Services Hospital against the removal of house officers and PG trainees from the hospital. MS Dr Munir Malik said that the hospital administration would hold an inquiry to probe as to who had made these unauthorised appointments in the hospital.
Moreover, he said that the matter regarding appointments of unauthorised doctors in the hospital has also been brought into the notice of the department.
