Murder accused gets death

OKARA: An Additional District and Sessions judge Saturday awarded the death sentence to a murder accused.
Accused Muhammad Asad of Amli Moti, Dipalpur, had killed Muhammad Amin. The court fined Rs 150,000 to the accused as a compensation for legal heirs of Muhammad Amin. The court also awarded five years imprisonment and Rs 25,000 fine to the accused for injuring Muhammad Jamil. In case of default the accused would undergo six month more imprisonment. The accused had shot dead Muhammad Amin and injured his friend Muhammad Jamil over an issue of aerial firing some three year back.
CAR SNATCHED: A man was deprived of his car and cash by robbers on Friday night. Muhammad Imran Rao was en-route to Multan from Lahore in his car (DK-157). He was intercepted by a car having fake motorway police lights and five unidentified gunmen took cash from him and forced him to sit in their car. Their one accomplice drove away his car and he was forced to get down near a rural area of Sahiwal.
