LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered to develop district score cards on the basis of performance of district administrations with regard to delivery of Ramazan Nigahban hampers at beneficiaries’ doorsteps and handling of other related issues.

She made a surprise visit to Model Ramazan Bazaar Control Room in Poonch House on Sunday to review the monitoring mechanism of the provincial model market control room. She inspected both district and PITB [Punjab Information Technology Board] dashboards, developed for the purpose, besides reviewing the Qeemat App dashboard. She was briefed by the authorities concerned on the data displayed on dashboards.

Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of effective monitoring of delivery of Ramazan Nigahban hampers at beneficiaries’ doorsteps. “I will not tolerate any obstruction or neglect in this regard,” she warned and added that marks would be deducted over violation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in this regard.

The CM said by the 10th of Ramazan, the relief hampers should reach all the needy. She directed the authorities concerned to also include home delivery information in the dashboard.

Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Industries Ehsan Bhutta and DG Industries Asif Ali Farrukh were present.

Separately, CM Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to a constable who was martyred by dacoits in Sargodha. Constable Mohsin Abbas of the Muhafiz Squad, deputed in a suburban area of Sargodha, was martyred by dacoits in the course of patrolling.

The chief minister also took serious notice of death of a student due to alleged torture by a teacher in Sargodha and sought a report from the commissioner. She directed the authorities concerned to fix responsibility after conducting a comprehensive investigation into the violence against 14-year-old Samiullah.
