KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Sunday said maintaining relations between Kabul and Islamabad was a necessity and it desired improved relations with all the neighboring countries, including Pakistan, says a news agency report.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Afghan government, urged the new Pakistani government to show flexibility towards the deportation of Afghan refugees.

“First, the Islamic Emirate has always sought good relations with all its neighbors, including Pakistan, where a new government has emerged. Afghanistan also needs good relations with Pakistan. We want Pakistan to make good progress in various sectors with Afghanistan and ask the future government to solve all its problems,” he said.

The spokesperson also called for Pakistan’s attention to various issues, including expanding relations, addressing challenges faced by the Afghan traders and matters related to the Durand Line.

“Regarding migrants, we ask them to be flexible. They have hosted migrants for many years and from now on, they should consider Afghanistan’s relations with Pakistan until the migrants return,” Zabihullah Mujahid said.
