145,000 books sold at PU book fair
LAHORE: A record 145,000 books were sold in a three-day book fair organised by the Punjab University. In his statement, Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood said the record sale of books in the present age showed that how much people belonging to all walks of life loved the books. He said the record sales of books proved how important it was to provide such opportunities to the people.
He said that the publishers gave more than 50pc discount in the Punjab University Book Fair. He said that the development of any nation was not possible without education. He said that the promotion of book culture was necessary to develop the culture of tolerance in the society. He expressed his determination that the book fair organised by the Punjab University administration would now be held regularly.
