Man, 26, commits suicide

LAHORE : A 26-year-old man committed suicide in Defence area due to unknown reasons. The police shifted the body to the mortuary and started the investigation. The deceased was identified as Usman Ghani son of Afzal. After receiving the information, the police took the legal action, shifted the body to the mortuary by Edhi ambulance and started the investigation.

Killer of TikToker’s husband arrested

Punjab police have arrested a man from Muscat who killed the husband of a TikToker.

The Punjab Police Special Operations Cell apprehended the culprit Rizwan Ali with the help Interpol after a two-year pursuit. Red notices were issued, and the accused was extradited from Muscat. Subsequently, the accused was handed over to the Sialkot Police for further legal proceedings. The total number of criminals apprehended from abroad this year has now reached 17.

Body found in Rohi drain

A putrefied body was found in the Rohi drain in Sunder area on Saturday. Police arrived at the scene and seized the human bones. They started the investigation by shifting the human body for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the dead bodies of two unknown persons were found from different places in the provincial capital on Saturday. Police shifted the dead bodies to the mortuary and started searching for their relatives.

A 55-year-old unknown person was found dead on the side of the road in the Kot Lakhpat police limits while a 60-year-old man was recovered dead from Nawankot police limits. Further investigation is underway.

CCPO reviews performance

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana Saturday chaired a meeting at his office to review the performance of the Civil Lines and Saddar divisions. The meeting also discussed overall law and order situation of the province.

The CCPO ordered obtaining red warrants for the arrest of proclaimed offenders (POs), absconding abroad and ordered joint teams for action against those involved in heinous crimes. The CCPO announced cash rewards for officers demonstrating outstanding performance and warned DSP (Township) Shoaib Khan of disciplinary action for poor performance. Departmental action would be taken against poor performers, he maintained.

The CCPO directed to include best-performing officials of operations and investigation wings in the teams. He also directed a crackdown on those involved in motorcycle theft and snatching, as well as for the best security arrangements during Ramazan. DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Asghar, SSP (Admin) Atif Nazir, SSP (Operations) Syed Ali Raza, Civil Lines and Sadr Division SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs and In charges (Investigation) also attended the meeting.

IG pays tribute to cop

IG Punjab paid tribute to Constable Mohsin Abbas for his sacrifice in the line of duty, stating that Mohsin has become immortal through his bravery. He said that the welfare of his family will be ensured, as with all martyrs' families. Constable Mohsin Abbas, posted at Police Station Miani Mohaffiz Squad Sargodha, was martyred in a crossfire with robbers. The squad encountered four robbers during patrol, resulting in Mohsin's fatal injury. The main shooter, identified as Waqar, was killed, while another, Amir, was injured. Two accomplices escaped.
