ISLAMABAD: Superintendent Adiala Jail has assured the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the lawyers will not be stopped from meeting the PTI founder.
Filing his reply during the contempt of court case hearing against him, Adiala jail superintendent Asad Warraich told the court lawyers would never be stopped from meeting with the PTI founder. The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan on Friday.
Advocate General (AG) Ayyaz Shaukat and Superintendent Adiala Jail Asad Warraich appeared in the court.
At the inception of the hearing Superintendent Adiala Jail, Asad Warraich filed a reply in IHC. He took the plea in his reply. The Jail administration has upheld all the orders of IHC. Security personnel are appointed during the meetings of the PTI founder for his security. Directives have been issued to security guards inducted during meetings with the PTI founder to stay at some distance. Security personnel will not be able to hear the conversation during the meetings.
He further said that 6 batches had been set up for a meeting with the PTI founder after consultation with the lawyers. The lawyers of the PTI founder will never be stopped from meeting him. Lawyers of PTI founder will be allowed to bring documents and stationery inside the jail. Asad Warraich said in the report that the documents brought by lawyers are never taken into their possession by jail authorities. The documents are passed through the security scanner. Security scanners cannot copy the documents. Jail authorities always treat the lawyers of PTI founders with respect and honour. All the orders of IHC are implemented in true letter and spirit.
The assistant lawyer told the court senior lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat is in another court. The court inquired from the lawyer how much time he would take. The assistant lawyer told the court he would come within some time. The court inquired from AG has his affidavit had been filed. The AG replied yes the affidavit had been filed.
Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan remarked you should read the order. Some things were for legal advisors. What things you are saying are irrelevant. Later the court while directing AG to read out the affidavit remarked you should give a copy of your affidavit to the petitioner. The court announced the interval till the arrival of lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat. On resumption of hearing after internal the matter of not allowing Umar Ayub Asad Qaisar and others to meet the PTI founder came up under discussion.
Jail Superintendent told the court that arms and ammunition had been recovered from the back side of the jail two days earlier. Two persons were arrested due to which search operation continued the whole day long yesterday. The leaders were not allowed to meet the PTI founder due to search operations. Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan remarked PTI founder would give in writing he would have a meeting. No one will give the application to the superintendent of jail except the names given by the PTI founder. Sher Afzal Marwat counsel for the petitioner prayed that the jail superintendent remains busy therefore some focal person be appointed.
The jail superintendent told the court that additional Superintendent Adiala Jail would be the focal person. The number of visitors to PTI Founder has increased. We have to stop several works due to the security of the PTI founder. Therefore the days fixed for the meeting be allowed to continue. AG told the court two days Tuesday and Thursday are fixed. Two sessions each are therein. 6 people can meet in one session. AG requested the court to adjourn the hearing after Ramadan. The counsel Sher Afzal Marwat said in the court Khan Sahb will come out of jail in Ramadan. They want to seek this petition is made in fructuous. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till March 15.
