ISLAMABAD: Individuals, who performed well in the caretaker government, will be given an opportunity in the new government, but instead of the policies made during the caretaker government, the new government would devise its own priorities and policies.
Sources said that both Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan Peoples Party have agreed on this decision. The implementation of this decision has also started and considering the failure of the caretaker setup during the election process in the first phase, legislative preparations have been started and both parties have proposed to abolish the caretaker setup in future.
According to sources, both the parties have decided to draft a law for electoral reforms in the country. It has also been agreed between the two parties to end the concept of caretaker government, i.e. the head of the outgoing government will hold office until the new elections. In the new system, the general elections will also be held under the supervision of the Prime Minister on the pattern of India and Bangladesh.
The cabinet will be dissolved but the Prime Minister will continue to work and recommendations would be made to make the election process simple and easy. Both parties will take other parties into confidence on the proposed reforms.
