PPL, FWO sign mining MoU
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) to cooperate on a mining project in Balochistan, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The MoU covers the EL 207 Project, located in Eastern Chagai, which aims to explore and develop mineral resources in the region. PPL said the project was part of its diversification strategy into the mining sector, which would enhance its presence and contribution in Balochistan.
The signing ceremony was held at the Prime Minister secretariat and attended by senior officials from both sides. PPL's managing director and chief executive officer Imran Abbasy and FWO's director general Abdul Sami signed the MoU.
The statement said the partnership between PPL and FWO would create synergies and leverage their respective strengths in the mining sector. It said the collaboration would also pave the way for innovative and sustainable exploration ventures in Balochistan, which has vast mineral potential.
"This collaborative effort between PPL and FWO is poised to revolutionize the mining landscape in Balochistan province, fostering the exchange of technical expertise and paving the way for innovative exploration ventures," the statement added.
